Our German Language Schools in Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich are open and we are providing face-to-face classes. Hygiene recommendations and requirements by the local authorities are followed by all our schools.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Entry restrictions and quarantine requirements are still in place when arriving to Germany.

Students from the European Union, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Norway or Island and students fully vaccinated with an EU recognized vaccine can travel to Germany without reasons to travel. Students from other countries who are not vaccinated can find information on their country status here: Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community

We will accept students into class according to the requirements by the German government (requirments are subject to changes).

CONSENT FORM

All students who agree to return to in-classroom teaching have access to our Covid-19 consent form, that does not need to be signed any more. It will also include extensive information on our health and care policies.

Most COVID-19 rules have been lifted, however it is at the discretion of each state and place to decide about possible meassures.

  • shops, restaurants etc. may require you to wear a mask
  • FFP2 / medical masks are still mandatory in public transport and many public areas

ONLINE COURSES

Our most popular courses, German Standard, Intensive and Premium Course, Exam prep and invididual tuition are as well offered as Online German Courses or Hybrid German Courses. The same number of lessons as booked will be provided and the content and progress plan remain unchanged. We encourage new students to travel to Germany and join the Online German Courses during their qurantine, if required.

Students residing abroad or preferring not to return to in-classroom teaching have the option to continue with our Online German Courses which will be offered until further notice on several levels. Please note that the course may not be offered with the same teacher you used to have for face-to-face teaching, classes from different school locations may be merged which may require a change of teachers.

  • If it is not medically possible to be vaccinated, a medical certificate is required, 5 same-day test certificates per week are required during time of studies
  • Students from countries with no access to vaccinations that are recognized according to the Paul Ehrlich Institute may be able to provide same-day 5 test certificates per week during the first 4 weeks after arrival. The staff at our school will be happy to provide information and help you book a vaccination appointment.

The protection of our students and staff is of highest priority and requires extensive measures in all schools. We will follow strictly the guidelines of our government and the federal states and are apologizing for the inconvenience this may cause to your overall experience during these challenging times.

A few things you can expect during your stay (where face-to-face teaching is available):

 

  • Students and staff need to bring their personal face masks
  • Students are required to wear FFP2 masks at all times (public areas and classrooms while seated)
  • We will respect the minimum distance whenever possible in classrooms
  • Written placement tests will be conducted online
  • Hand disinfectants will be available in the entrance area
  • Regular cleaning and disinfection is provided
  • Payments in school will only be accepted via cards, no cash payments will be accepted
  • Guided weekly activities will not be offered until allowed again by the authorities
  • Double room accommodation for students now knowing each other is not available until further notice, exception Augsburg
  • Students tested COVID positive will not be admitted to class during min. 7 days quarantine and may be able to join our Online or Hybrid Courses instead if available
  • Students beeing 1st grade contact person of a COVID positive person:
    - Boosted (3x vaccinated or 2x vaccinated + recoverd): 1 day isloation + 5 daily rapid tests prior to class
    - Not Boosted (2x vaccinated or recovery older than 2 months) or not vaccinatetd: 7 days isolation (online classes possible)

  • You are not able to travel due to official travel restrictions from your country 
  • You are not able to travel due to border restrictions to enter Germany
  • You can prove that you have been tested positive on COVID-19 during the week prior to your arrival
  • If your country requirement changes (e.g. vaccination needed to enter Germany) 1 week (7 days) prior to your arrival. For arrivals more than 7 days after the announcement, please make sure to be fully vaccinated, as you will not be entitled to a free cancellation or change

For students who are on site and a new lockdown is ordered by federal state (Land) government:

 

  • You can continue your course online or
  • You will receive a credit note for unused course/accommodation services

2G/2G+ RULES AT DID DEUTSCH-INSTITUT

Due to the increasing COVID-19 cases this autumn, our government is announcing further meassurs for schools, which we have implemented.

2G: anyone who wants to enter certain public spaces must be vaccinated or recovered
2G+: anyone who wants to enter certain public spaces must be vaccinated or recovered and present a test certificate

  • In addition to vaccination students may be required to present negative COVID-19 rapid tests 3x/2x per week depening on the local authorities requirments
  • We will respect the minimum distance whenever possible in classrooms
  • Written placement tests will be conducted online
  • Hand disinfectants will be available in the entrance area
  • Regular cleaning and disinfection is provided
  • Payments in school will only be accepted via cards, no cash payments will be accepted
  • Schedules will be alternating to ensure students have minimum contact with each other (starting and break times will change, new schedule provided each Friday)
  • Guided weekly activities will not be offered until allowed again by the authorities
  • Double room accommodation for students now knowing each other is not available until further notice, exception Augsburg
  • Students tested COVID positive will not be admitted to class during min. 14 days quarantine and may be able to join our Online or Hybrid Courses instead if available
  • Students beeing 1st grade contact person of a COVID positive person:
    - Boosted (3x vaccinated or 2x vaccinated + recoverd): 1 day isloation + 5 daily rapid tests prior to class
    - Not Boosted (2x vaccinated or recovery older than 2 months): 7 days isolation (online classes possible)

COVID-19 RULES IN GERMANY

Due to increasing COVID-19 numbers the so-called "3G rule" or "2G rule/2G+ rule" is set to be enforced nationwide in Germany:

 

  • shops, restaurants etc. may require negative COVID-19 PCR test result or vaccination proof or proof of COVID-19 recovery
  • restaurants may apply the "2G rule" = only vaccinated or recovered persons are allowed to enter
  • restaurants may apply the "2G+ rule" = only vaccinated with boost / vaccinated without boost + test or recovered with test  are allowed to enter
  • FFP2 / medical masks are still mandatory in public transport and many public areas
  • private meetings arerestricted
  • check-in via apps may be required in shops etc.

JUNIOR SUMMER CAMPS 2022

Our summer camp season for 2021 has finished with Berlin, Munich and Augsburg beeing in operation and following associated regulations and additional hygiene measures - we will be annpuncing the dates for 2022 soon here: Summer Camps and Programs. Our language school for juniors in Augsburg is expected to fully reopen on 1st April 2022.
