Our German Language Schools in Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich are open and we are providing face-to-face classes. Hygiene recommendations and requirements by the local authorities are followed by all our schools.

  • If it is not medically possible to be vaccinated, a medical certificate is required, 5 same-day test certificates per week are required during time of studies
  • Students from countries with no access to vaccinations that are recognized according to the Paul Ehrlich Institute may be able to provide same-day 5 test certificates per week during the first 4 weeks after arrival. The staff at our school will be happy to provide information and help you book a vaccination appointment.

We will follow strictly the guidelines of our government and the federal states and are apologizing for the inconvenience this may cause to your overall experience during these challenging times.

A few things you can expect during your stay (where face-to-face teaching is available):

  • Students and staff need to bring their personal face masks
  • Students are required to wear FFP2 masks at all times (public areas and classrooms while seated)
  • We will respect the minimum distance whenever possible in classrooms
  • Written placement tests will be conducted online
  • Hand disinfectants will be available in the entrance area
  • Regular cleaning and disinfection is provided
  • Payments in school will only be accepted via cards, no cash payments will be accepted
  • Guided weekly activities will not be offered until allowed again by the authorities
  • Double room accommodation for students now knowing each other is not available until further notice, exception Augsburg
  • Students tested COVID positive will not be admitted to class during min. 7 days quarantine and may be able to join our Online or Hybrid Courses instead if available
  • Students beeing 1st grade contact person of a COVID positive person:
    - Boosted (3x vaccinated or 2x vaccinated + recoverd): 1 day isloation + 5 daily rapid tests prior to class
    - Not Boosted (2x vaccinated or recovery older than 2 months) or not vaccinatetd: 7 days isolation (online classes possible)

CONSENT FORM

All students who agree to return to in-classroom teaching have access to our Covid-19 consent form, that does not need to be signed any more. It will also include extensive information on our health and care policies.

  • shops, restaurants etc. may require you to wear a mask
  • FFP2 / medical masks are still mandatory in public transport and many public areas

Our most popular courses, German Standard, Intensive and Premium Course, Exam prep and invididual tuition are as well offered as Online German Courses or Hybrid German Courses. The same number of lessons as booked will be provided and the content and progress plan remain unchanged. We encourage new students to travel to Germany and join the Online German Courses during their qurantine, if required.

Students residing abroad or preferring not to return to in-classroom teaching have the option to continue with our Online German Courses which will be offered until further notice on several levels. Please note that the course may not be offered with the same teacher you used to have for face-to-face teaching, classes from different school locations may be merged which may require a change of teachers.

BOOK WITH CONFIDENCE

For new bookings from now and till 31st May 2022 we will not apply change fees or cancellation fees*, if you inform us 1 week before your arrival. This applies if:

  • You are not able to travel due to official travel restrictions from your country
  • You are not able to travel due to border restrictions to enter Germany
  • You can prove that you have been tested positive on COVID-19 during the week prior to your arrival
  • If your country requirement changes (e.g. vaccination needed to enter Germany) 1 week (7 days) prior to your arrival. For arrivals more than 7 days after the announcement, please make sure to be fully vaccinated, as you will not be entitled to a free cancellation or change

For students who are on site and a new lockdown is ordered by federal state (Land) government:

  • You can continue your course online or
  • You will receive a credit note for unused course/accommodation services

Due to the increasing COVID-19 cases this autumn, our government is announcing further meassurs for schools, which we have implemented.

2G: anyone who wants to enter certain public spaces must be vaccinated or recovered
2G+: anyone who wants to enter certain public spaces must be vaccinated or recovered and present a test certificate

Students from Albania, Australia, Hongkong, Japan, Lebanon, Macau, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Serbia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Jordan, Kosovo, Moldova, Qatar, Ukraine and Saudi-Arabia:

 

Students from other countries not mentioned above:

 

  • Entry to Germany is allowed again without needing a reason, language schools can welcome students again
  • Digital Registration on Entry
  • 14 days must have passed after full vaccination, only EU-approved vaccinations count (see list), no exceptions
  • negative COVID-19 test result and quarantine, depending on risk assesment of the area

Students from areas of virus variants:

 

  • no travel to Germany possible

Each state regulates the entry requirements individually, links with more details and information on airport testing centers are listed below for your convenience:

Students with a positive test result will not be admitted to class and must stay self-isolated for 14 days and present a negative test result after that period.

We will keep on offering Online German Courses or Hybrid German Courses. The same number of lessons as booked will be provided and the content and progress plan remain unchanged. We encourage new students to travel to Germany and join the Online German Courses during their qurantine.

Germany has initiated a series of measures to slow down the sprad of COVID-19 during the last weeks. Especially the vaccination campaign picks up speed and Germany is easing restrictions for vaccinated people. Overall the incidence rate is falling and in many parts of Germany is already below 100, which allows us to reopen our schools again.

COVID-19 RULES IN GERMANY

German government extended the lockdownbased on number of cases. Currently in areas where the  incidence is over 100 per 100,000 inhabitants. Restrictions include the following:

 

  • All nonessential shops and services remain closed
  • People are not allowed to drink alcohol in public
  • Private meetings are restriced (e.g. max. two students can meet at the same time outside of schools)
  • Borders remain open
  • Curfew from 9 PM till 5 AM

For people from "risk areas" who are fully vaccinated with a vaccine that is allowed in the EU (see list) or people fully recoverd within a period of 6 months, there are exceptions:

 

  • They do not count for meeting restrictions
  • They can go shopping or to the hair dresser without a negative COVID-19 test
  • Most important: no quarantine is required

Entry restrictions and quarantine requirements are still in place when arriving from areas indicated as "areas of virus variants", "high incidence areas" and "risk areas". The updated information, where your area is categorized in, can be found here: Overview high risk areas. In some countries where varants of the virus have been discoverd or cases have been very high in general new rules apply and entering from those countries may be temporarily prohibited. Please check more information on the website of the Federal Ministry of Health.

Students arriving from these areas are required to register online (Digital Registration on Entry) prior to their arrival to Germany. Each state regulates the entry requirements individually, links with more details and information on airport testing centers are listed below for your convenience:

  • You will receive a credit note for unused course/accommodation services

JUNIOR SUMMER CAMPS

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the associated regulations and additional hygiene measures, we will be offering a smaller selection of programs during the summer in 2021. In order to implement our hygiene concept in the best possible way, programs can only be booked in blocks of 2, 4 or 6 weeks (etc.). This information is subject to changes.
